WINE PARIS 2019 (Vinisud-Vinovision)

The first edition of Wine Paris (Porte de Versailles), which is the merger of VinoVision and Vinisud, has revealed to be a success of organization and attendance.

Distributed on 2 adjoining pavilions, the event opened its space with Alsace wines, Burgundys, Champagnes and wines from the Loire Valley, then foreign wines, Beaujolais, Bordeaux and the Rhône Valley.

The next pavilion gathers the southern wines, the superb free tasting area full of accessible nuggets, as well as a triangular of discoveries entitled Wine Mosaic very interesting where I was able to enjoy the finely made white wines of the Hatzidakis area of the Greek island Santorini and very well-constructed red Croatian wines.

My best-drawn memories come back by chronology: Champagnes J. De Telmont where Madame Bouet who has made us tasted several vintage parcel vintages excellent, including La Folie 100% Chardonnay vintage 2012 with notes of citrus apricots mineralized.

Then the secret wines of Xeres of the Spanish Bodegas Gutiérrez Colosia whose full range including the yellow wines has delighted our taste buds. These sublime wines are regularly used also in gourmet-starred cuisine to enhance the flavors as I had discovered last winter in Brittany (cf previous post). Overall on a hazelnut taste final for the yellow wines, and on the almond for the sherry, the latter deserve to be much more widely discovered for their « organic » quality without being and their ancestral originality unseating many wines in this more well-known and less natural style!

To follow the essential Corsican wines of the Clos Canereccia with its cuvées in amphorae red as white, have sidèré me of purity, fruity coated with minerality. The wines of Yves Leccia in reds and then the white Altru Biancu remain safe values, as almost the whole of the association wines of Corsica which was present on the large traditional family stand.

At the end of the course, the Burgundys of Manuel Olivier with strong and fleshy structures in the mouth with beautiful notes smoked and ash, recharged me the batteries thanks to the vigor of a revitalizing pinot noir on the whole range.

The « haute-couture » Burgundys from Jacques Prieur supervised by Domaines Labruyère have satelliséed me by their purity and their extreme rarity for some. We were able to have a nice tasting sampling despite everything, before a future full visit directly to their area next spring.

The Italians of the fabulous Domaine Castello Gabiano with the cuvée Il Ruvo 2017 100% Grignolino of the appellation Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese we have delivered a complete tasting of their crus combining the floral and fruity magic with the greatest dexterity.

Very nice surprises have arrived at the Château La Couspaude stand for the Aubert vineyards in the Saint-Emilionnais with the wine of Heloïse Aubert-Sénéchal entitled Ascension to the finesse graphite in the nose as in the mouth, with a well regulated acidity and the complete modern look of the bottle to the contents. A flash code is necessary to fill a market of curious eager for cultural novelties at the top of the slopes of Saint Moritz during an « parasailing » lunch! Two other confidential cuvées to follow in this spirit exist linked to the Aubert vineyards.

A tour of the free tastings has proved to be fruitful of discoveries or beautiful classics, some of which illustrate this concise report on my zeniths taste during these 3 intense days. A nice tasting of the Grands Crus classés Bordeaux during the happening of the trader Ginestet crowned with impeccable glasses of the new brand Sydonios, came to slip during a late morning to recall the fantastic references of the best Bordeaux.

An unorganized evening on the living room with the Beaujolais allowed me to discover the Domaine La Chaize en Brouilly in the company of the blogger assiduous:

And a few detented sommeliers for this « all in magnum » cocktail! The same evening the event of the 10 years of the women of wine feasted us with a good hundred crus of all France presented by the women winemakers and granted by the delicious cheeses of the League of Extraordinary Cheeses. We have not anish… And this is just a summary of the highlights.
