Tasted in October 2013

Aged 24 months in barrels and 6 in bottles, this technical wine is considered one of the jewels of its name. This typical Mediterranean wine vinified by the family De Franssu is the top in the series also featuring some quality « rosé » and a white wines.

The great color (deep garnet robe) and the indication of the alcoholic strength of 15% suggests a rich musical orchestration to many and varied instruments with a fiery introduction of maracas referring to the song of cicadas followed by heavy percussives congas.

The string ensemble and the low bass round crowned by a poetic chorus of male voices gently explores the olfactory sensory effect swirling around black currant, dry prune d’Ente, cocoa, zan, thyme and laurel.

The voluptuous palate attack amplifies the aromas similar to those discovered on the nose, with a cast of hot chocolate. The evolution in the mouth echoed with the « veloce » jazz tempo second song with acoustic guitar notes, backed by the cinematic strings set by the game stripped of the clavinet Hohner (electric piano).

A great wine from the South growing on the slopes of the rising sun directed by passionate winemakers of their terroir: a discovery of flavours to be enjoyed after a carafe for two hours about to reveal subtle aromas.

Mas de Cynanque « Cuvée Acutum » AOC Saint-Chinian (rouge) – 2007

Mas de Cynanque « Acutum Vintage » AOC Saint-Chinian (red wine) – 2007

Grapes :
syrah 60%, mourvèdre 20%, grenache 10%, carignan 10%

« Wine4Melomanes » wine and music pairing: Nostalgia 77 « Wildflower » 2007

The deep purple (ink) dress suggests a rhythmic orchestration piece like a soundtrack.

The graphite nose skips with bright drums rods. The aromas develop a luxurious, pepper, cocoa, black fruit bouquet (cassis), sweet spices, garrigue, violet, echoing with the voice diva’s elegant and fluid.

The mouth is powerful, supported by round double bass and a gourmet fleshy instrumentation. The brass notes reflect the keys ‘liquorice’ to the woody subtle.

A recent domain that already has excellent results, with wines on across the range, very balanced and harmonious.
