Among the Pomerol wines tasted at the Night of the Stars for the charity dinner of the fight against cancer with the Bergonié Foundation of Bordeaux on November 12, 2019, I chose to grant music 2 wines chosen to illustrate this moment of humanity important. More than 500 guests gathered at the H14 on the quays of the city of Girona to lend a hand to the donations. A fantastic light staging was created by my partner Alive son – lights.

Château Certan de May 2010 – Pomerol
(red – 70% merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon)

This divine vintage comes from vines on clay-gravel soil on a 5 hectare vineyard.

It develops a concentrated aromatic bouquet of black fruits, warm plum pie, cedar wood and smoky notes.
The mouth with melted tannins is fluid, dense, with crunchy and fleshy complexity.
It is a wine of beautiful freshness with a vintage of care but which is already perfectly enjoyed.

The playing of the soprano saxophone of the virtuoso jazzman delivers a melody rich in spirituality, languorous, which is supported by a dense and timed rhythm.

Then the piano with flying modal notes enriched this harmonious and sensual quartet in the image of nectar tasted in mixed accord.

Château La Connivence 2013 – Pomerol
(red – 90% merlot, 10% cabernet franc)

This vintage, from a micro vineyard of about 1 hectare 15, is vinified with the precious help of a renowned winemaker: Stéphane Derenoncourt.
The olfactory whirlwind of this wine emanates seductively, fresh black fruits such as the bigarreau cherry, violet, liquorice and cigar box.
In the mouth, its elegance, vivacity and freshness place it in modern and lush wines with a fine haute couture graphic.

The abundant and elaborate orchestration of jazz musicians around the divine bass voice of the young singer, gradually develops a captivating and chiseled melodious depth.
