A most promising exhibition, the MILLESIME BIO 2019 edition has collected 1200 winegrowers, plus 500 on the side events (Biotop, Le Vin des Amis, Les Affranchis, The Juice Brothers etc) on 4 intensive days, giving way to the discoveries of properties always sharp and qualitative. Here are those who by chance or flair have « chiseled » this stay of taster Wine4Melomanes.

 

During the evening of tasting of grenache and carignan for The Juice Brothers event, Wine4Melomanes was performing as Djin’ sound design mix on this occasion. I was able to discover some beads as for example, the Domaine du Père Benoit installed in the Gard, for which I have to make a musical chord (soon online on this post).

 

Then at Biotop, I was seduced by the wines of Paul Morandini with FuoriMondo and his cuvée wondrous AMAË with the sparkling balsamic notes. And delighted to taste all the wines of the Domaine Le Conte des Floris located in Pézenas in the Languedoc, without forgetting the delicate line of the Champagnes Fleury and its vintage Sonate sensational.

 

The grouping of winegrowers wine of friends has made me discover the complete cuvées of the vineyards Bordeaux Pueyo and Le Puy (Côtes de Francs) in the presence of the owners, but also the wines of the Gers of Dominique Andiran with inimitable style of which this oxidative cuvée The Ruminant to damn you!

 

The Italian wines of Tenuta di Valgiano have also retained my taste buds eager for taste sensations. Then the beers of the Brasserie 5bis with its I.P.A. made to La Palme (Les Corbières), came to close this day rich of flavors.

 

The living room itself is full of nuggets, I retained the vineyard Mas Lumen in the Languedoc and its cuvée in red In Vitro vintage 2012 for a musical chord (soon on this postponement).

The expressive bouquet of this wine with mixed grape varieties (syrah, grenache, carignan) evolves around the aromas of kirsch cherry, Russian leather, menthol, drawing a scented masculine sensation. The mouth fluid and full of red and black fruits, well balanced on the acidity, powerful with a length on spicy finesse, shine my musical choice towards a composition of modern jazz (Quartet to Sextet or more) of the same vintage to underline the sensuality, liveliness and harmony of the wine.

The complexity of the jazzmen between the piano swing, the bass clarinet, and the double bass develops a fantastic and seriously rhythmically paced, modal hard bop style. This musical ensemble echoes the aromatic tonic bouquet, the sound of the copper comes to trace the masculine sensuality of the wine.

My colleague Cédric Ferry, also gave me some good references to discover whose wines from the Abbey Sylva Plana with the cuvée haute couture the share of the devil, those of the Domaine Berthet-Bondet in the Jura to the value unbeatable price and, the sublime Hermitage  by Laurent Habrard.

 

Pierre Antoine Thiot (Latitude20-Cité du Vin Bordeaux) recommended me the vineyards of the Sancerre with the wines of Claude Riffaut, whose cuvée Les Denisottes 2017 which has nailed me with freshness and rectilinear attire.

 

The line of Italian wines San Polino has captivated me the palate by its graceful fruity fullness, the Catalans of Terra Remota have atomized me with 2 vintages of extreme red.

 

The cuvées of blanc Villa Minna in the Bouches du Rhône and those of the Clos des Buttes (The Fagnes) in the Gard have allicked me as well as a fine series of nutmeg of the winemaker Jérémie Huchet.

 

A real coup de coeur for a carignan 100% cuvée Le Revenant from the Leonor family of Oc, whose huge fruit in the mouth convinced me to return every year to MillésimeBio.

 

The parcel Cuvée 35 rows of pinot noir des vineyards Philippe Gilbert en Menetou-Salon is drawn with the greatest finesse in the image of some greatest burgundies. The last born of Caves de Tain in nature is well successful.

 

Finally, the Spanish cuvée Auditori by Albert Jané (Acustic Celler) of the appellation Montsant affirms a concentrated black grenache grape varietal of the most subtle, while the black carignan of the Mas des Capitelles finishes with brio a brilliant taste ensemble.
